Our September 2016 Newsletter

Interviewing Trisch about how The Pod started.

The Pod Ozone & Wellness Centre Celebrates!

Dear Patient

It's Jules here, PR person for The Ozone Pod.  Can you believe it's already been one year since we first opened our doors?  It took us by surprise too, but as we sat reflecting we realised how far we’ve come.

Since Day 1 we have increased our health focused offerings to our patients by complementing our Ozone Therapy treatment sessions with specialised Autohemotherapy treatments* (Dr Mitch is in attendance weekly to administer), as well as Live Blood Analysis (LBA), Reiki, Aromatherapy and Lymph Drainage.  In addition we supply a large variety of supplements, homeopathic tinctures and Ozone products such as gel, soaps and the Soul Source oil range.

* We follow the Issels (R) Immuno-Oncology protocol for Autohemotherapy (click here to read more).

Over the past year we have assisted patients with varying illnesses and obtained remarkable results – for frequent updates and feedback follow us on Facebook or visit our website (links below).

We are so proud of our Luisa de Sousa, now an accredited Ozone Practitioner.

Congratulations Luisa, and we wish you much success.

Trisch & Peter Share Their Pod Story

So who is Trisch Rosema (and Peter of course), and what led to the start of The Ozone Pod franchises?

Q : Trisch, what was the defining moment that led to your decision to open a Holistic Wellness Centre?
A: Peter, my husband, had spent two years in hospital with doctors treating his symptoms and never exploring the cause of his illness.  Numerous neuro-surgeries later, we were no closer to finding a cure. We were introduced to the miracle of ozone treatment and, along with a change in nutrition, I realised the value of how healing and energizing oxygenated blood is.  However, ozone therapy in South Africa seemed to be a quackery as most of the so-called ‘therapists’ had no formal training and research showed me that this could have an adverse effect on a patient.  Additionally, most of the allopathic doctors my husband was consulting with at the time had no interest in looking at him in an holistic sense, that is, looking at all facets of his ‘self’ so I felt it vitally important to heal himself by himself (if that makes sense!).
I have always had an interest in working in the ‘healing’ space, yet never had the opportunity to study medicine.  When living overseas, I completed a course in Aromatology – the ‘science’ of blending essential oils.  This piqued my interest in natural health.

Q : Where were you introduced to the benefits of Ozone Therapy?
A: I met a young lady who had been diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer.  Her doctors had told her she had a couple of months to live.  She purchased an ozone steam sauna cabinet and lived nearly three years past her ‘diagnosed demise’.  During those three years she had more energy than I had seen in some of the fittest people and she always said it was because she was doing ozone.  By the way, she passed away in a car accident... not from the cancer.
When my husband was ill, I started researching ozone and watched many testimonials on YouTube and health websites. There were never any negative testimonials.  Of course there were many nay-sayers writing articles on the web, but I chose to look at ozone with an open mind.  I mean, how can enriched oxygen be bad for you?!   I then met with the local manufacturers (OzoneTime in SA) of these saunas and decided to purchase one for home use for Peter.  I was trained by “Prof Gresse” – a man of great ozone knowledge in SA – on the correct protocol to use.  Within 10 sessions, Peter was feeling much better and was having more good days than bad and before long he was back riding his Harley!  At that time I was also in limbo – I had given up a corporate job and was looking to change direction in my life.  Not finding a wellness centre that could assist people from an integrative medical sense near me was encouragement enough for me to start planning my own.

Q: What is Ozone Therapy (in brief), and what benefits does it provide?
A: There are different applications of ozone therapy which we offer at The Ozone Pod.  One is hyperthermia therapy where the patient sits in a ozone steam sauna cabinet (which we affectionately call the pod) and we also offer direct limb ozone application (or bagging) and the creme-de-la-creme, autohemotherapy.
  • Ozone strengthens the immune system so that the body can fight off diseases arising from viruses, bacteria and fungi.
  • Ozone used as a preventative treatment helps to resist degenerative diseases such as diabetes, arthritis and heart disease.
  • What Ozone therapy does for you:-
  • Inactivates viruses; oxidizes bacteria, parasites, yeast, fungi
  • Stimulates the immune system, delivering faster healing
  • Cleansing of arteries and veins, improved circulation
  • Purifies the blood and the lymph drainage
  • Oxidizes toxins in preparation for excretion
  • Reduce inflammation
  • Reduces pain, calm nerve endings
  • Stimulates protective cell enzyme production
Q : What do you envisage for The Ozone Pod in the next two to five years?
A: We have already opened a “podlet’ in Kathu in the Northern Cape and hope to be opening a Pod Wellness Centre on the East Rand in 2017.  There have been many enquiries from people from as wide-spread as Bapsfontein to Bloemfontein, all wanting to open Ozone Pods… but we are being very selective as this is no get-rich-quick scheme.  It is intended to deliver the opportunity for health and healing for those who have given up hope, as well as for people who want to keep their bodies in optimal condition.  We have many sportsmen using ozone for quick muscle recovery, as well as people using therapy to assist them in their slimming regimes.  Not to forget the benefits of more youthful-looking glowing skin!  Ozone treatment is a fantastic way to detoxify one’s body and is a great re-energizer.
Also, by adding Live Blood Analysis (LBA) screening to our offerings recently we’re now able to provide concrete evidence that parasites, bacteria and viruses can be eliminated from the body through ozone therapy because LBA provides an accurate view of toxicity through homeopathic channels.

Ozone Practitioners Association of South AfricaTrisch initiated “The Ozone Practitioners Association” in an effort to regulate the industry through training and accreditation of Ozone Practitioners.
At present she is in negotiations with a medical aid scheme in an endeavour to introduce ozone therapy treatments onto their list of scheme approved and certified treatment options.

Finally, a little bit about Trisch that perhaps you didn’t know. Trisch is an artistic, creative soul, loves pairing a glass of good red wine with chocolate, she is a Harley-Davidson enthusiast, world traveller, proud mother to four sons (and two cats and one koi) and is herself a cancer survivor.  Trisch also wrote and self-published her first book
Kaleidoscope  - a scream a minute and a great read for South Africans!

There is a cure for Lyme Disease

There are dozens of testimonials about various therapies which have cured patients of Lyme Disease on the internet and YouTube - and all have a similar thread.  Ozone Therapy.

Lyme Disease is an infection caused by being bitten by an infected tick. The first and typical symptom is usually a rash that spreads out from the site of the tick bite. Left untreated, the germs (bacteria) can spread to other areas of the body.
Not all sufferers will experience this rash.

Ozone Hyperthermia Therapy (a steam cabinet, or as we call it, The Pod) is by far the preferred method of application of patients who have testified to being cured of Lyme Disease.
This is because the patient feels relaxed, warm and there has been no invasion as with other therapies such as intravenous lines or insufflation.

Lyme Disease already makes the patient feel so ill, with headaches, nausea, chronic fatigue, muscle and skeletal pain amongst others that we don’t want to subject them to anything that will add to the debilitating condition they already find themselves in.

Despite its healing properties through the hyperthermic application of ozone, the faint hint of it while sitting in The Pod also has a disinfecting fragrance which stimulates the olfactory senses and sends healing signals to the brain.

Diet too plays an important role in the elimination of the disease.  Lyme Disease is a bacteria which feeds off, amongst others, sugar.  Sugar and complex carbohydrates need to be removed from your diet.  Not all at once you understand.  It’s bad enough that the ozone therapy will be detoxifying your body and starting its miraculous work of ridding your bloodstream of those spirochetes (the bacteria that carries Lyme) which feed off sugars.  And some people might be prone to some detox side effects such as headaches and fatigue – even more than the Lyme already is causing.  So, start slowly and be kind to your body.  Start your ozone therapy first.  Once the detox has reached its peak, then slowly change your diet, one item at a time.

We offer a well-researched and step-by-step diet changing plan to complement Ozone Therapy.  Simply ask a therapist at your consultation about it.

Don't Give Up!

We met a lady the other day who boldly stated "Ozone didn't help me in fact it made me feel even sicker!"

When I questioned her on how she had been treated, it was clear that the 'Ozone Practitioner' she had been to was of the 'back-room' type and had not been trained properly (if at all) in the protocols of Ozone Hyperthermia Therapy.

Said lady's friend had purchased a small second-hand ozone pod for home use off an internet site.  She had set it up in a room in her house and turned it into a business to recoup the costs of the machine.  When the lady went in for her sessions, she came away feeling awful and did not see the value of the therapy, which had been rather expensive.  No wonder - after some investigation, we worked out that the 'practitioner' had set her machine at a one-stop-fits-all setting of 100% ozone and 100% steam at 40 degrees Celsius and was gaily making sick people feel even worse.

Warning!
Now we don't want to knock this person as we're sure she also means well, but 'playing with ozone' is like playing with fire - if you don't know what you're doing, you're sure to burn your bridges (in more ways than one).

Don't Give Up On Ozone

After taking a full medical history of this lady, we found she has a heart condition, for which she takes chronic medication, and had recently been experiencing headaches.  We found that a side-effect of the medication was headaches, however, her blood pressure was also high which too could be why she was suffering from them.  She also was extremely stressed in her job (putting that blood pressure up) and had recently suffered a loss in her family.
Our protocol therefore was adjusted specifically to her needs.

Under no circumstances would we induce high temperature steam into the pod as this would cause the heart to beat too fast and could damage the already damaged heart even further.  We would start her at a low dosage of ozone as the detoxifying effects could bring on an even bigger headache (which the poor lady didn't need) and we really wanted to heal her body and show her the benefits of using Ozone Therapy.

Five sessions later, we asked her if her initial statement still held true.
"Oh no!" she exclaimed, "I am feeling so much better and I haven't had a headache in a week now.  Also, I have more energy and I feel like I'm dealing with my loss a lot easier."

Ozone Therapy is extremely beneficial when used under the correct protocols, but, like everything else, when not used properly can cause untold problems and create disillusioned patients who give up hope.

PS: We've been in touch with the 'practitioner' and offered her proper training.  Sadly, she has refused.
