De-Stress and Detox

The lymphatic system plays a vital role in the body’s fight against disease.  It is made up of clear ‘tubes’ filled with clear lymphatic fluid.  If either the tubes, ducts or the nodes get clogged up, it can compromise the body’s immune system.

Lymphatic Drainage is a type of massage which stimulates the lymphatic system into releasing blockages and assists the body in removing toxins, metabolic waste, bacteria and other pathogens through natural circulation in the lymph system.  Exercise is important in keeping the lymphatic system running as is massage, some adjunct therapies such as cranio-sacral therapy and, naturally, our area of expertise, Ozone Therapy.

Along with Ozone Hyperthermia Therapy which oxidizes these pathogens, The Pod’s DeStress-Detox Programme gives the body a huge boost in ridding itself of toxins while at the same time, it gently introduces enriched oxygen into the bloodstream.

Who Should Get a Lymph Drainage Massage?

Anybody! Everybody!
If you’ve been feeling off-colour or you’ve been ill, if you’ve just had surgery, or you’re a sportsperson who trains hard and has suffered an injury, lymph drainage can help to get you back on track.  In fact, it assists patients who suffer from CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome), fibromyalgia, and many other physical conditions.  Many patients who have just had surgery will find that their lymph nodes are swollen as huge demands are placed on them for recovery.  Deep tissue massage at this stage is not recommended, which is why our Aromatherapist at The Pod will use effleurage massage techniques during the De-Stress massage part of the treatment.

What is a De-Stress/Detox Treatment?

For the first half hour of the treatment, the Aromatherapist will concentrate on gentle massage using a detoxifying blend of pure essential oils.  She will concentrate on stimulating the lymph nodes where the patient has the most need.

After a short rest, the patient will be put into a hyperthermic pod by a Practitioner, where ozone will be introduced.  Steam in the pod opens the pores of the skin allowing transdermal absorption of the ozone into the bloodstream.

We recommend this treatment regime once every second week, with alternating Ozone and/or Aromatherapy sessions in between.

IS OZONE SAFE?

IS OZONE SAFE?
Many of our first-time patients ask this question.
5.5 MILLION Ozone treatments say YES!

The German Medical Society reported that 384,775 patients were treated with 5,579,238 applications of ozone (an average of 14 treatments per patient) and that the side effect rate was only 0.00005 per application.

Let’s talk about the side effects.

These are minor inconveniences and are short-lived, so those who do get a headache after their first session, or who might ‘feel lousy’ afterwards, are merely oxidising their inner garbage.

During detoxification, your body might start mimicking all your previous diseases.  Imagine a cell in your body as an onion.  As you peel it, layer for layer, the ozone starts removing the toxicity in your body.  As each layer is peeled away, the ozone removes the leftover remnants of diseases, pollutants, drugs, dead bacteria and viruses which have not been flushed out.

While they are inert, their chemical signatures still abound.
As they are then oxidised and start leaving the body, one might experience similar symptoms to what you first encountered.

But the more treatments, the more peeling takes place, and eventually one is at the core of the cell which now is well oxygenated and therefore able to tackle any new pollutants.

At The Pod, we treat our patients gently, increasing the dosage of Ozone slowly and spread over a longer period of time.  This allows the body to flush out toxins, rebuild, flush out, rebuild and so on until the patient once again regains their health without suffering any severe side effects.

By comparison, look at how many people die from drug-related side effects each day throughout the world.  As an example, in the USA, more than 40 people will die from overdosing on prescription drugs, of which just over 50% is through accidental ingestion of a combination of drugs.

So a very slight headache from ozone therapy surely is encouragement that Ozone Therapy is SAFE.

Ozone Therapy Gives Life to Breast Cancer Patients

The Ozone Pod in Fourways supports Breast Cancer Patients

It's October.  That means it's Breast Cancer Awareness month. We see companies and charities all going pink during October in an attempt to create awareness and raise funds.

But what about the rest of the year?
Breast cancer victims suffer through the other 11 months too.  In some rural areas of South Africa, women think that they will only get breast cancer in October... that's because of all the hype around it in the month.

We were fortunate enough to witness the amazing benefits of Ozone Therapy on two breast cancer patients.

One chose to take the allopathic route with chemo, surgery and radiation.  The other refused.

Let's call Patient A, Agatha.  Agatha was diagnosed with Stage IV triple-negative breast cancer.   Pathology results showed the cells tested negative for hormone epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER-2), estrogen receptors (ER), and progesterone receptors (PR).  Since the tumour lacked these receptors, regular treatments like hormone therapy with drugs targeting estrogen, progesterone and HER-2 would be ineffective.  Her oncologist, however, suggested chemotherapy and surgery anyway.  He also did not believe she would live more than three months.

She went ahead with his suggestions, having the chemo, surgery and radiation, but she also purchased an Ozone Hyperthermia Therapy sauna cabinet.  She ozonated her body once a day, every day, for 30 minutes.  She also changed her diet, cutting out sugars, complex carbs and diary.  She was fiesty, had energy and looked fabulous.  Six years later, Agatha passed away.  And not from the cancer.  She was killed in a car accident.

Ozone Autohemotherapy assists breast cancer patient

Patient B, Corrine (not her real name either), was diagnosed under mammography and sonar with a 3cm tumour in her right breast.  Again, surgery, chemotherapy and radiation were ordered by her doctor.  Corrine refused this treatment and instead started Ozone Autohemotherapy with a Practitioner near her home.  Within three months her tumour had shrunk by half and within 9 months she was completely clear.  Corrine still continues a maintenance programme to keep the cancer at bay and to date has been clear for over two years.

While these two cases are completely different, both patients benefited from Ozone Therapy during their illness.  We do not dismiss any doctor's treatment regimes for cancer, but we do urge patients to use Ozone as an adjunct or complementary treatment.

Don't Give Up!

We met a lady the other day who boldly stated "Ozone didn't help me in fact it made me feel even sicker!"

When I questioned her on how she had been treated, it was clear that the 'Ozone Practitioner' she had been to was of the 'back-room' type and had not been trained properly (if at all) in the protocols of Ozone Hyperthermia Therapy.

Said lady's friend had purchased a small second-hand ozone pod for home use off an internet site.  She had set it up in a room in her house and turned it into a business to recoup the costs of the machine.  When the lady went in for her sessions, she came away feeling awful and did not see the value of the therapy, which had been rather expensive.  No wonder - after some investigation, we worked out that the 'practitioner' had set her machine at a one-stop-fits-all setting of 100% ozone and 100% steam at 40 degrees Celsius and was gaily making sick people feel even worse.

Warning!
Now we don't want to knock this person as we're sure she also means well, but 'playing with ozone' is like playing with fire - if you don't know what you're doing, you're sure to burn your bridges (in more ways than one).

Don't Give Up On Ozone

After taking a full medical history of this lady, we found she has a heart condition, for which she takes chronic medication, and had recently been experiencing headaches.  We found that a side-effect of the medication was headaches, however, her blood pressure was also high which too could be why she was suffering from them.  She also was extremely stressed in her job (putting that blood pressure up) and had recently suffered a loss in her family.
Our protocol therefore was adjusted specifically to her needs.

Under no circumstances would we induce high temperature steam into the pod as this would cause the heart to beat too fast and could damage the already damaged heart even further.  We would start her at a low dosage of ozone as the detoxifying effects could bring on an even bigger headache (which the poor lady didn't need) and we really wanted to heal her body and show her the benefits of using Ozone Therapy.

Five sessions later, we asked her if her initial statement still held true.
"Oh no!" she exclaimed, "I am feeling so much better and I haven't had a headache in a week now.  Also, I have more energy and I feel like I'm dealing with my loss a lot easier."

Ozone Therapy is extremely beneficial when used under the correct protocols, but, like everything else, when not used properly can cause untold problems and create disillusioned patients who give up hope.

PS: We've been in touch with the 'practitioner' and offered her proper training.  Sadly, she has refused.
